What is the recommended treatment for this condition when caused by ingestion of sodium phosphate in preparation for colonoscopy? This is important, my wife is suffering from acute renal failure and we are trying to determing the cause. She recently met with a specialist in this field. and a lot of questions were asked during her initial appointment Subsequent additional blood tests and a 24 hr urine specimen was submitted. I came across an article concerning use of sodium phosphate in a publication called Bottomline Personal dated April 1,2009. My wife had a colonoscopy mid Feb this year and has been quite ill since shortly after the procedure. I would appreciate any information you might be able to provide and I am going to contact her physician first thing on Monday to apprise her of this article.
